As we are approaching 2020, our governments are running out of time to stop overfishing and take the measures needed to have clean and healthy seas. Sign the petition to remind them of their legal commitments. We will make sure they hear loud and clear when we deliver the petition to them at the end of 2019.

As another ship pollutes the coasts of Brittany and more than a thousand dolphins stranded on French coasts this year again, the French government has a unique opportunity to preserve its marine environment right now. But the recently published Marine Strategy includes unambitious and non quantified objectives to protect our seas and coastlines by 2030. Until 4 June, we have an opportunity to make our voices heard. Take part in the operation #DéfendsTaMer of France Nature Environnement. Send an email in two clicks to your Préfet to tell the government that our seas deserve better!

Six billion Euros of EU taxpayers’ money have been allocated to the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund to support the development of activities at sea between 2021 and 2027. We believe that at least 1.5 billion Euros out of this total should be invested to protect our seas and oceans. The #OceanAlert campaign led over 60,000 citizens to tell members of the European Parliament that they need to invest your money in protecting and restoring our oceans. In April 2019, Members of the European Parliament took a significant step forward by ringfencing a generous proportion of the new Fund for the protection of marine ecosystems.
